Change Agents UK in partnership with Inntropy and ESD Solutions, who support women in enterprise, has been awarded a £45,927 grant from The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) as part of the Group’s Inspiring Women in Enterprise initiative.
RBS Inspiring Women in Enterprise has been designed to encourage more women to explore enterprise, build their skills, start up and succeed in business. RBS is making £500k of grants available every year for the next three years. The grants will go to organisations who support female entrepreneurs through dedicated enterprise programmes.
The WISEE (Women in Social and Environmental Enterprise) project will inspire and help more than 100 young women to develop their idea for an eco and low carbon social enterprise that will benefit individuals and communities across the UK. Good green ideas will be nurtured through a range of activities including business development training, marketing and funding advice, a Boost grant, mentoring and on-going support and advice from experienced professionals and entrepreneurs. The project is run by Change Agents UK, an organisation that has been helping young people to live and work sustainability and make a positive impact on the world around them since 1996. WiSEE will be supported by Inntropy and ESD solutions who bring additional experience in the field of environmental/social enterprise, business development and sustainability. Funding will pay for an online competition to find the best ideas, a residential “bootcamp” of business development to 12 entrepreneurs and a programme of support. In addition, signposting and advice will be available to all competition entrants to maximise the project’s impact.
In total 175 organisations submitted applications for funding to run programmes and 8 winners have been announced across the UK. The grants were submitted online and winners were chosen by a judging panel which included a public vote, which more than 5,200 people took part in.
