We have just opened a new office in Bristol!

Change Agents UK have just opened a new office in Bristol!

As an organisation we have wanted to expand geographically for many years, from our head office Rutland, and the time is now right to do just that, with a second office in the South West.  We hope that this expansion will increase our involvement in sustainability projects in the South, South West and Wales. This will be the first time in our 16 year history that we have embarked on such an expansion and it is really exciting times for the organisation!

The two main projects to be run from Bristol are:

The Warm Homes Project – We now have 23 Warm Homes Officers based throughout England challenging the issues of Fuel Poverty and Affordable Warmth. A combination of rising energy prices, poor energy efficiency and cold temperatures has proven a challenge for millions of householders nationwide. Through a shared desire to eradicate fuel poverty, Change Agents UK and National Energy Action (NEA) have been working with the 23 graduates.

Woodcraft Folk Inclusive Volunteer Research – in partnership with Woodcraft Folk, we work with 10 districts in the UK to implement inclusive volunteer recruitment strategies. The Woodcraft Folk is a UK-wide charity, established in 1925, which aims to provide social education to children and young people. There are c.400 local Woodcraft Folk groups operating across the UK, providing weekly activities. Research expertise and experience for this project is provided by NUS Services Ltd. 10 Research Agents are working with their local Woodcraft Folk group over a period of about 6 months to identify, implement and evaluate volunteer recruitment strategies. This research will help to inform Woodcraft Folk UK-wide.

And more beyond - In addition to these projects we will continue to expand our services with events such as an upcoming Professional Development Day. Watch this space for more information on how to get involved.

The office is based in the Create Centre, the home of all things sustainable and environmental in Bristol. If you would like to get in touch with us in Bristol, please contact Sarah Hooper, Sustainability Project Manager on sarahhooper@changeagents.org.uk or 07845 090665.
