Change Agents UK will, for this coming winter be delivering Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council’s home energy advice visits. Dudley have a well-developed network of partners who all feed referrals into a central “hub”, offering support to those most vulnerable to rising fuel prices. If a resident is thought to require a home visit, the referrals will be fed through to Change Agents UK, who will act swiftly to reduce their energy bills as much as possible in one visit. Visits will include applying for funding such as Energy Company Obligation (ECO) for infrastructural measures, ensuring residents are on the correct tariffs and benefitting from the warm home discount, through to teaching people to better manage their energy use for heating and appliances. All members of staff will strive to save on average £230 in each property visited.
Working within Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council’s Hub and the Warm Homes energy advice team. The Healthy Homes Project Case Manager will be responsible for assisting in delivering advice across a range of the Household Energy Services projects. This will involve providing appropriate telephone‐based and face‐to‐face advice through outreach on all aspects of home energy efficiency, as well as accurately recording client details and information on outcomes. The Project Case Manager will be responsible for booking appointments for the Energy & Fuel Poverty Officers, inputting data and post‐advice follow‐up and evaluation.
The aim of the Winter Warmth Support & Energy Advice services is to ensure that residents of Dudley are able to be warm and well at home and to support them to afford the costs of energy, getting best value for money. The approach is person-centred and holistic.
