Objective

The role will be responsible for the recruitment and development of graduates and young people interested in developing an ethical and responsible career. This will involve advertising, shortlisting applicants CVs, telephone interviews, face-to-face interviews and assistance with induction as well as ongoing support through our Skills Development Programme.

This role will work alongside the Recruitment and Development Coordinator – Learning and the Team Administrator and will also hold responsibility for establishing and developing new and existing relationships with clients.

The role also involves working to improve our processes and provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders.

This opportunity is initially a fixed term contract for 6 months; however this may be extended or the role may develop into other opportunities within Change Agents UK.

Responsibilities

Outputs

  1. Ensure effective and focussed sales, marketing and business development to past and potential clients to sell the potential of recruiting a graduate or young person through Change Agents UK.

  2. Achieve annual financial and placement targets and team objectives.

  3. Form part of a motivated and enthusiastic Recruitment and Development team.

  4. Maintain regular and accurate reporting on the performance of the Recruitment and Development Team.

  5. Maintain high quality recruitment, induction and support processes for graduates and young people, incorporating legal compliance and excellent customer service for clients and customers.

  6. Assist in the induction, training, support and development of Change Agents once they are in position with their host organisation.

  7. Ensure regular and efficient contact with client organisations.

  8. Collaborate with others to ensure effective sales and business development across the organisation.

Key Tasks

  1. Through effective networking, creative thinking and partnership development, market our services to potential clients (local authorities, universities, businesses, voluntary and community organisations).

  2. Liaise with partner organisations such as the National Union of Students (NUS), and Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges (EAUC) to promote Change Agents UK’s work and generate referrals.

  3. Recruit and interview graduates for ethical and responsible projects and market the service to graduates and clients using websites, presentations, adverts and mailings.

  4. Support Change Agents and our clients throughout the duration of their roles, through Introductory and Review meetings, and the Skills Development Programme and giving information on courses, conferences, events etc.

  5. Develop effective and innovative social media and email campaigns via dot mailer platforms.

  6. Develop networks to promote sustainable development, information sharing, networking and the profile of Change Agents UK and its Change Agents.

  7. Develop specialist knowledge of a sustainability topic and/or key employment sectors in order to give advice and referrals to other staff and Change Agents, gather information and write articles.

  8. Develop a system for marketing our services to current, past and potential clients.

  9. Attend conferences and events on a regular basis to promote the organisation, develop leads, and build new business.

  10. Produce regular reports and monthly dashboard tracking the performance of Recruitment and Development against targets and budgets.

  11. Maintain effective working relationships with the team.

  12. Assist with any other reasonable tasks that may arise.

Personal Specification

Essential

  1. Interest in and understanding of sustainability and behaviour change concepts and issues.

  2. Excellent communication skills: face to face, over the phone, email and other internet-based communications i.e. social media.

  3. Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to take responsibility and work under own initiative, coping with a demanding workload and prioritising effectively. Demonstrable ability to work to set deadlines and agreed milestones.

  4. Basic understanding and appreciation of the process and objectives of the Recruitment & Development team’s activities.

  5. Understanding of, and commitment to, equality and objectivity in the recruitment process.

  6. A willingness to be inducted into, understand and carry out the full Change Agents UK processes for recruitment and assessment.

  7. Accurate data management and ability to maintain paper and electronic files.

  8. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office programmes.

  9. Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with stakeholders, clients, candidates and colleagues.

Desirable

  1. Demonstrable experience in partnership development and of developing new business opportunities.

  2. Direct experience of behaviour change for sustainability.

  3. Previous experience of working in Human Resources (HR) or demonstrable knowledge of employment law and regulations.

Employer: Change Agents UK

Salary (per annum pro rata): £17,500 - 19,000 dependant on experience
