On 1st May 2019 MPs declared a climate and environment emergency which is being adopted by an ever increasing number of universities, colleges and sector agencies and bodies. The UK government has legislated to achieve net zero emissions on all Green House Gas emissions by 2050 under the 2008 Climate Change Act. The Climate Commission for UK Higher and Further Education is launching on 13th November 2019 to catalyse action to create real impact and drive change.

The Climate Commission is a partnership of Association of Colleges, EAUC, GuildHE and Universities UK. The Commission is keen to engage with students from the start.

For more information, please contact Fiona Goodwin at the EAUC

It is critical that young people are at the heart of the Commission so we would like to invite a limited number of student representatives to attend the launch on 13th November and become involved in the process.
