I wasn’t looking for a new job when I happened upon an advertisement for “Recruitment & Development Manager” at Change Agents UK, but the words caught my eye. I explored and researched it extensively. Change Agents: Agents of Change. It was clear that sustainability is at the beating heart of this not-for-profit organisation. Enabling graduates and early careerists to forge careers that make a positive difference. Supporting ethical and responsible organisations to find new team members who share their values. Changing the agenda from short-termism to sustainability. Supporting the embedding of the Sustainable Development Goals; making sustainability mainstream, necessary and positive. I knew these were the organisational values and the mission statement I was looking for; I thought I could do good work and make a difference here. Reader, I applied!
My background is in financial services, banking and insurance. I have a BSc in Management Sciences from Warwick. I have worked extensively in project and change management, working on IPOs, organisational integrations, compliance projects and large technology programmes. I have managed and developed project teams and departments. I enjoy delivering positive change that makes things better and I love supporting and developing people and enabling them to realise their full potential.
My current role as Chief Executive is an exciting one. I lead a dedicated, resourceful and talented team as we traverse the sustainability sector, recruiting, supporting and developing early careerists as “Change Agents” and partnering ethical and responsible organisations to find resourcing and organisational design solutions that will enable them to further their sustainability programmes. We also undertake work within our charity that supports sustainability projects in the education and university sectors. In the words of Robert Swan, “the greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.”
