Sustainability Projects Administrator
Hi, my name is Charlie, and I am very enthusiastic about building a green future and developing towards fair and ethical systems for all communities. I graduated from the University of York with a degree in Law in 2020, a less than ideal time in a global pandemic. Navigating the jobs market is tough in regular years let alone in a pandemic, however, after seeing the effects of lockdowns and changes in human behaviour on the environment, I became optimistic about the opportunities that sustainability presents. When the opportunity came to administrate sustainability projects for Change Agents UK via the Kickstart Scheme, I was excited to take it.
My interest in the environment developed during my years at secondary school. I took part in a fantastic exchange trip to the Netherlands and explored developments towards renewable energy, carbon capturing, effective water management, and innovative ways to clean the air we breathe. Focusing on finding solutions to the challenges that sustainable practices present allowed me to collaborate effectively in multi-national teams. This ingrained in me the intrinsic value of teamwork, a value shared by Change Agents UK. I now have a developing interest in environmental legislation, an area of law that is still niche, but quickly becoming more pertinent as legislators turn their attention to the climate emergency.
I am now proud to be working for Change Agents UK as a Sustainability Projects Administrator. I look forward to assisting the team in our objective of raising awareness of sustainability through delivering projects and supporting the next generation through their career paths. We are a small team, but part of something much bigger.
Get in touch with me or one of the team if you’d like to know more about us and our projects or how we can support you on your sustainability career path- we’d love to help!
