Skills & Employability Lead
After completing a BSc in Animal Science, I (as typical of many graduates) needed to find work, regardless of whether it had any relevance to my degree, and so my journey into recruitment began.
Initially in the Admissions office of a local university, delving through swathes of UCAS forms, I eventually ended up travelling internationally to recruit students. The perfect life, some may say - being paid to visit beautiful countries and being a small part of someone’s future. My over-riding memory however, is gazing out of the window and wishing I was outside in the fresh air, working with a bunch of crazy animals.
The decision was made, I bit the bullet, quit my job and moved to France for a year to work with horses…a little extreme, but I didn’t rebel much as a teenager. Once home I set up my own company, had four very happy years doing what I’d always dreamed of and learned a lot along the way.
In 2015, adulthood came calling, it was time to gain a little more security and so my journey with Change Agents UK began. What a ride it has been, I recruit, train and support graduates to start their career in a sector that they love – something I wish had been available to me at that point in my life; I develop and deliver workshops and learning resources, create partnerships with like-minded organisations and best of all get to work with an absolutely stonking team of talented people. What more could you ask for?
Get in touch with me or one of the team if you would like to know more about our work and how we can support you in your sustainability journey – we’d love to talk!
