About Carbon Literacy
Carbon Literacy is “An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”
This one-day course uses best practice examples and sector-relevant expertise to equip your staff, senior leaders and elected members with tangible ideas on how to reduce emissions in their role and influence change across their local area.
The courses, licensed from the Carbon Literacy Project, are specifically created for local authorities, catering for the unique context, challenges and opportunities available.
Our accredited training team have delivered Carbon Literacy to over 1,000 learners to date, including over 170 local authority staff. We have been the dedicated Carbon Literacy training organisation to local authorities through funding from both the South West Net Zero Hub and the North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub, facilitating regional upskilling and networking.

Delivery
We can deliver your course online or in-person. Adapting the materials to your context, progress and aims. We cover everything from pre-course materials to reviewing and submitting learner assessments.
Support
To become certified learners must submit evidence to the Carbon Literacy Project. We'll review submissions and offer 1-2-1 support where needed to ensure learners pass and gain their certificate.
Upskill
If you want to take the training in house our facilitator support program can build familiarity with the training, ensuring confident and effective delivery. We can also co-facilitate sessions until you feel confident on your own.
