SUSTAINABILITY AND NET ZERO FOR HR

This workshop session is designed to help HR professionals (and others who nurture organisational development) to understand the significant role they can play in achieving organisational sustainability goals.

Why HR Needs a Sustainability Course

Human Resources are in a unique position – it is the only department that is connected to every person at every level in an organisation. HR Teams are therefore in the ideal position to embed sustainability throughout their organisation…but how?

Using our 25 years + of experience in sustainability education and recruitment, we have developed a Sustainability Framework, specifically for HR professionals, to guide them on the journey to sustainability and Net Zero.

Objectives of the Sustainability and Net Zero for HR course:

  • Understand the skills needed to achieve net zero & sustainability targets.

  • Recognise the critical role Human Resources teams play in achieving organisational sustainability goals.

  • Have the confidence to foster green skills & support sustainable development throughout your organisation using our HR Sustainability Framework.

This interactive training is designed to help HR professionals (and others who nurture organisational development) to understand the significant role they can play in achieving organisational sustainability goals. We explore how global challenges are changing the nature of work, the critical skills needed to ensure organisations are resilient in the future, and the steps HR professionals can take to maximise benefits from the necessary transition to a more sustainable, net zero workforce.

HR Course Modules:

1. Setting the scene:

Gain an understanding of the foundations of sustainability, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate science and climate action, focusing on what these mean for businesses and HR.

2. Skills for the future:

Explore green jobs and the key workplace transitions being prompted by the shift to a greener economy. We identify what key competencies we need to develop to effectively respond to sustainability challenges and how these map against our own organisations.

3. The role of HR:

Using our HR Sustainability Framework, we identify opportunities to create lasting, intersectional and beneficial change. Together we will tackle and find ways to overcome the barriers, identify strengths and start to put the theory into practice so that HR professionals leave feeling confident and able to drive their organisation to meet, and even exceed, its goals.

“When it came to helping our students to understand how to prepare themselves for a career in sustainability, Change Agents’ presentation was awe-inspiring.   Not only did they provide a lot of factual information, they delivered it in an interactive and engaging way, which made it easy to absorb. The structure was clear, motivational and effective. They had obviously put a lot of thought and expertise into the content of the presentation, and because of this our students have taken away a very key message - ‘sustainability starts where you are'.”
