Favourite ethical and environmental organisations

Morning Petals!

I was pondering our session yesterday about Ethics, Decisions and Culture - and the fact that we were struggling to come up with organisations, businesses etc who are doing 'Sustainable Culture' well.

The ones that finally came to my mind were the BCorps, Riverford Organic Farmers veg box company and Transition Towns.

And this morning I found my Soil Association magazine. It is a really good read, all things organic - so I'd like to add that charity to the 'Cool Green Organisations' list (CGOs for short!). Organic farming has 30% more wild plants and animal species by the way.

I'm also a big fan of electric car and e-bike sharing, ie Zipcar and Forest bikes, (although I do spend much of my time picking up fallen ebikes off the pavement!).

So.. Ladles and Jellispoons.. what are your favourite CGOs?!

Happy Friday!

Such a good question! I equally love bike sharing apps. Others that are less directly about business practise and more cool products I've seen lately are :

  • Overherd (oat milk powder to save packaging/transport emissions)

  • Tony's Chocolonely (not great for environment but I love their ambition and clear marketing about values and truth of harm)

  • BlaBla Cars in France which seem great for liftsharing. They have loads of car parks near highways so people can do the local bit themselves before meeting up more centrally.

  • Hubbub always seem to do great work

  • Local to me is this incredible charity Grounded Community. They have a range of projects that support access to food and nature through community garden, bees, redistribution, foraging, building raised beds. It's all about a whole community approach, and is my place to go for inspiration!

We could get an amazing inventory with @Everyone's ideas, couldn't we!?
