Damian Woods
Recruitment and Development Officer
I joined Change Agent UK because I have always been drawn to organisations that drive positive social impact. Throughout my career, I have worked for organisations with a strong purpose beyond profit — starting with the John Lewis Partnership, which is built on a model of working together to make the world a better place, and then moving to Homes England, the government's housing and regeneration agency. At Homes England, I saw first-hand how our work helped provide affordable homes for those in need, including people facing homelessness.
I have always had a passion for developing people and spotting talent. During my time at Waitrose and John Lewis, I played a key role in supporting new branch openings, particularly in recruiting and building strong teams. This experience led me to work in branch recruitment, where I helped bring in and nurture talent.
Over the years, I have gained recruitment experience across both the private and public sectors, spanning industries as diverse as nuclear, investments, and housing regeneration. This breadth of experience has given me valuable insights into identifying and attracting talent at all levels—from Executive Leadership Teams (ELT) to administrative roles.
To deepen my expertise, I completed a CIPD qualification in HR, reinforcing my commitment to people development. Joining Change Agent UK allows me to bring this experience into a dynamic, purpose-driven environment where I can continue to grow and make a meaningful impact.
I was born in Birmingham and grew up in Shropshire, just outside Ludlow. I have three children and spend a lot of my time coaching a girls' football team, which I love.
I enjoy anything outdoors—walking, cycling, and camping and try to be outside as much as possible. I like keeping busy and getting stuck into new challenges, but I’ll try to keep this short… as I could talk for England!
