Eleanor Wills

Senior Sustainability Education and Engagement Officer

Hi, fellow agents of change! I’m Eleanor and I joined Change Agents UK in spring 2023. My background was a steady dive into the sustainability world. I studied BSc Environmental Science where I learnt the (as you’d expect) science behind the climate crisis but also recognised the cultural and social shifts we need, and that stand in the way, to real action. Since studying, I’ve worked on environmental projects in the UK, China and Canada and have spent a few years working in the Higher Education sector, working to embed sustainability into areas like curriculum, research, extra-curricular engagement, and of course measuring and reducing emissions.
To achieve a sustainable and equitable future I believe we don’t just need technology and infrastructure, but we need to approach it from a cultural and even spiritual lens. I’m fascinated by what drives people and really brings them joy (often low-carbon activities!) so approach sustainability fully from a people-focused, interconnected and co-creative direction. This means that a lot of my spare time is also taken up with community-focused projects and activities, cultural exploration and a fair few personality tests too!
I’m very much a values-driven person which is why I love working at Change Agents UK. Within this job I’m lucky to meet so many passionate, knowledgeable and inspiring people to connect with, learn from and collaborate with. We are all change agents, and we all have the power to act to achieve a low-carbon and sustainable future. Let’s go do it!

“Don’t only strive to be the change you want to see in the world, but also help all those around you see the world through commonalities of the heart so that they would want to change with you. This is how humanity will evolve to become better. This is how you can change the world. The language of the heart is mankind’s main common language.” – Suzy Kassem
